SDGC18 | Day 2

I hosted the 11th annual global service design network conference in Dublin, October 10-12. As part of the Service Design Network leadership team, my core responsibility is our global conference strategy, which means I have the honor of introducing the conference with my partner in crime, Alex Nisbett (left).

Local Host Team

SDGC18 | Day 2

Each year we partner with a local host team. The Dublin team (left to right: Sayali Bharambe, Niall Healy, Salomé Santamaría, Noelle Desmond, Tim Macarthur, and Heather Madden) did an amazing job developing the programming and experience for our 820 attendees.

Friends and Keynotes

From Patrick’s talk, Let Go of Your Ego

I was delighted to bring Patrick Quattlebaum, Markus Hormeß, and Jakob Schneider to the stage. Patrick and I worked together at Adaptive Path. He recently published the amazing Orchestrating Experiences. It’s very hands on and how to and is based on a lot of the practices from the time that he and I worked together. If you want to understand how I work, read this book.

Markus and Jakob also published a book this year: This Is Service Design Doing. I had the privilege of contributing a case study to the book, and I provided expert review and comments throughout.

As always, the conference was packed with great talks and workshops, and a wonderful array of people from all over the world. I look forward to the event every year. And we’ve already started planning for 2019.
